Morocco April 2003  ............The best 10 days off road ever !!!!!

10 Days riding across the Atlas Mountains and Eastern board of the Sahara desert. 11 Blokes on XR400r's, 1 guide on a XR600 and a back up truck with a Mechanic, Driver and all the spares ya need for an XR, which aint much really. All that was required was a side stand, a chain and a front light after one of the guys tried riding down a cliff on the last day.

Pics below are some of the best shots taken by Mike and myself

Some of mugs that made the trip

Bikes line outside the Hotel morning of the off

Typical Road, check out the tunnel

The guys having a coke outside a local restaurant- no alcohol :(

View to the Atlas mountains from our hotel

All the mod cons, fuel from a 44 Gallon drum, can u trust it ?

What a road, tight steep and a lot of fun. Past 2 kids at the bottom, by the time we had our helmets off and a fag going they had run to the top, and they were not puffing, fit as

Cross the High atlas, air was a little thin at this altitude

Lunch stop day 2, barren and in the middle of now where again, seem to the a bit of theme

Captain Frog with a view of the Atlas

Great track this morning including a couple of water crossings

Amazing landscapes greeted us on a number of occasions, check out the colours

In the middle of nowhere again

Happy bunch , with one set of mountains behind

Yet another dry river bed to negotiate, really hard work but fun

Having a well earned beer after a long days ride

Marcus having a rest mid morning

Hmmm in the middle of nowhere again, only a GPS to follow out here

Setting of towards the Sahara desert

Ah yes there she blows, Desert in the background

Heading off into the dunes for a bit of fun

Made it to the top of the 150 meter high dune, only a couple of falls, due to the midday sun which flattened the light, it was more fun than mud wrestling a big mamma (Kenny)

Even the Boss Johns falls off, although he hates to admit it

Loading the bike on to back of the truck after Grant threw his chain, in the sand storm

Sleeping rough in the Bedouin tent

Mobbed again, hey I have run out on Bon Bon's

Start of the fresh fresh, was not to deep as the sand storms the previous day had blown it way. Although, Kenny did manage to drop it again

It's been a long morning and the only shade is beside the landy

A couple of local kids that came to visit while waiting for the other to catch up

2 punchers to fix :(

The roads go for miles, great fast riding

Ya supposed to rub it in Neven

Homeward bound
